Must I transition my kitten to adult food once they reach 6 months old?

You can start transitioning to our adult range anytime after 6 months. While our kitten range and feeding guidelines are designed for up to 6 months, you can continue using the kitten formula until your cat is one year old if you prefer. However, you may need to adjust the feeding amounts to 2 cubes a day or even less, as the kitten formula is quite dense in energy to meet the needs of a growing kitten's metabolism.

Must I transition my adult cat to senior food once they reach 7 years old?

Every cat is different. Depending on your cat's lifestyle and diet, age-associated changes may start appearing at 7, 8, 10, or even 12 years old. When you notice these changes, we recommend transitioning to our senior formula. Alternatively, you can proactively start using the senior formula around 7 years old to help prevent kidney and bladder diseases.

Will a transition period be needed when switching from a series of food to another? Even if they are currently on PetCubes? (E.g. kitten to adult / adult to senior)

We always recommend a transition period whenever introducing new food, regardless of whether it's the same brand or a different one.

Based on the feeding guidelines, I have to feed my kitten 1 cube per meal, 2 to 3 times a day. That sounds like a lot!

That's because kittens are little growing machines with metabolisms 2.5 to 3 times higher than adults! This means a small kitten may need the same amount of energy as a fully grown cat, even though they are only one-third the size. Providing more meals throughout the day is an excellent way to meet their high energy and nutrient requirements.

Which protein should I choose for my cat? I’m afraid my cat has sensitivities to a new protein..

If you are trying PetCubes for the first time, we recommend choosing the same protein as your cat's current diet to make the transition easier. After that, trying new proteins is beneficial. Rotating through different proteins helps prevent pickiness and allergies. If your cat has never had a particular protein before, it's the perfect chance to give it a try!
